Achieving the right keywords, computer security alternatives and Competitor software to Google

In this blog post I shall be involving three different topics: keywords which could increase your business’s online presence; identifying other operating systems which reduces security risks that windows could bring; and revealing alternatives to different google products. The resource material I am referencing from is PC pro’s issue 287 magazine.

The Right Keywords

To start it off, when it comes to your online keywords for how you describe your business you may want to consider the customer’s point of view for keywords they use to search for you. In order to find popular keywords you can enter them freely through Google trends and compare. Something simple as entering ‘Car show’, ‘Motor show’ and then ‘Classic car show’ presents a time graph showing that ‘Car show’ has a greater number of appearances.

Computer Security Alternatives

Other than anti-virus software, a free way of improving computer safety against malware is to change operating systems (OS) as Windows is known to be more open to issues. One alternative OS is Linux mint which is best when changing from windows, especially since it can be used no differently on outdated versions of Windows XP and Vista which are no longer supported by Microsoft.

There is also Chrome OS used in Chromebooks, to convert windows there is an open-source Neverware’s CloudReady Home Edition. Both web links go to the main page, and will have instructions should you choose to use them.

Competitor Software to Google

If you’re looking for other software different to Google that do the same things there are options available. Instead of Chrome there is Vivaldi that uses the open-source Chromium which does everything Chrome can do but offers more. It has extra tools, rewind feature, browser notes and built in task manager for tabs. The only negative is not being mobile friendly.
For News there is NewsNow and FlipBoard. Google drive replacements are DropBox and Cloud HQ.

To conclude, picking your keywords can have an effect on your online traffic, so make sure you choose them carefully. There are changeable security improvements if you didn’t want to keep using Windows. Additionally, Vivaldi and other software are available alongside Google products so you’re not stuck into using the same brand.
